Obituary

Sylvia Anne Wilson, 83, of Levittown, PA, passed away, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 12, 2020.

Born in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, Sylvia was a Levittown resident for over 20 years. Earlier she had lived in Stockton, Doylestown and Red Bank. Sylvia was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She always placed her family first. An excellent cook, Sylvia enjoyed preparing meals for those she loved, sharing her recipes and showing her daughters and grandchildren how to prepare all her specialties. A natural born teacher Sylvia was a gifted story teller and readily shared her knowledge and life experiences with her family. She loved a wide variety of music including Elvis and Led Zeppelin. Sylvia enjoyed driving, taught her children and grandchildren how to drive and wasn’t afraid to put the pedal to the metal.

A unique, generous and loving woman, Sylvia will be treasured in the memories and hearts of all who knew her.

She was the daughter of the late David and Blanche Diem Laing and the sister of the late Gertrude Poole, Veronica Letts, Mary Laing and David Laing. Sylvia was the devoted mother to her daughters and their husbands Marianne and Earl Nelson and Jane and John Stevenson all of Levittown; and the beloved Nana to Michael Nelson, Michelle Nelson, James Stevenson and Jennifer Stevenson.

Funeral services will be private.

Donations in Sylvia’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1818 Market Street, Suite 2820, Philadelphia, PA 19103.

Mom, I don't know if this is perfect but you would say it is the thought that counts.Well here is goes. We have been though good, bad and ugly together. No one will ever know or understand but we pulled through. You showed me what determination is and how to be independent. Also, how love is not what you get because things don't matter, it is thoughtfulness, respect, family and love.We could argue and get mad at each other but we would always be there for each other. I know you love Michael and Michelle and I know they love you and would do anything in this world for you, (as we all) and you would do the same for them. You may not have had a lot but what you had you shared with love. I miss not calling everyday to check up on you and hearing your voice. I may not have said I love you enough but you knew I did and that was because we were very close and words didn't matter.I love you and miss you so much. Love forever and forever . Marianne
