Obituary for Robert L Vasey
Robert L. Vasey, 83, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Monday, January 13, 2020 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, New Jersey.
Born and raised in Lumberville, PA, Bob was a longtime Lambertville resident. He worked in construction with Heavy Laborers Local 472, based in Newark, NJ.
Bob served in the US Army during peace time. He was a member of the American Legion Toscani Post 120 in Lambertville and the Elks Lodge 1070 in Lambertville where he had served as the Exalted Ruler and was honored as the Elk of the Year in 1994. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family.
He was the son of the late Hannah Beans Vasey and Albert Vasey; the father of the late Wendy Buchanan; the father-in-law of the late Robert J. Finan, Jr. and the brother of the late Albert M. Vasey. He is survived by his wife Margaret E. “Peggy” Orts Vasey, his daughters and their husbands Terri and Jack Marriott; Renee and Bobby McCormick; and Nancy Lee Finan all of Lambertville; his son and his wife Michael and Brittany Vasey of Perkasie; his son-in-law Harry Buchanan of Croydon, PA; his 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews and their families.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 11 am at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530. Rev. David Errickson, Pastor of the Old Rocks Church of West Amwell officiating.
Interment will follow at Carversville Cemetery, Carversville, PA.
Calling hours at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9 am until the start of services.
