Obituary for Helen Jane Baker (Still)
Helen Jane Baker – devoted mother, grandmother, sister and servant went to her eternal home on Friday, December 27, 2019 at the age of 81.
She was born on April 29, 1938 to the late Charles B. and Marion Still. She was raised in Lambertville NJ where she spent most of her adult life. She worked as an aide at West Amwell School for over 20 years where she also drove a school bus.
Helen Jane was preceded in death by her late husband C. Wayne Baker. She is survived by her son Christopher W. Baker and his wife Beverly of Doylestown, PA and son Curtis W. Baker and Pam Stoy of Ewing, NJ; grandchildren Bryant and his wife Hannah, Carissa, Kyle and Katelyn and her fiancée George; great grandchildren Malachi, Drayson and Mia; sister Sue McCusker and her husband Tom of Levittown, PA and many nieces, cousins, and friends.
Helen Jane was a great friend to many and was always willing to serve any and all in need. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, and enjoyed traveling to various places, many times to serve others. She was a volunteer at the Hunterdon Medical Center for many years, served on an advisory board for Philips-Barber, was involved with International Students Inc. at Princeton University, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, as well as serving with the Interfaith Hospitality Network. She thoroughly enjoyed sitting on her porch in Lambertville greeting anyone who walked past.
She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and Deacon for many years and where her life will be celebrated on Saturday, January 4, 2020. Her family will receive guests and visitors at the church that morning at 31 North Union Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 from 9:00 to 10:45am with the memorial service to follow at 11:00.
