Obituary for Theresa "Terry" Kusant (Ecker)
Theresa Kusant, 89, of Stockton, NJ, died on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at her home.
Born and raised in Kingwood Township, Terry was a resident of Stockton since 1952.
She was raised on a farm and continued her parents’ farming tradition, raising her own vegetables and tending to her flowers. Terry was dedicated to her family and her community. A woman of faith, she attended Stockton Wesleyan Church. Blessed with good health, she was small but mighty and was always the first to lend a hand to those in need.
She was the wife of the late John K. Kusant, the mother of the late Patricia Kusant, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ivana Hudovernik Ecker and the sister of the late Elsie Stanley, Rudolph Ecker, Engelbert Ecker, Robert Ecker, Henry Ecker, Ida Russell and Helen Cvetan. She is survived by her son John K. Kusant, Jr. of Stockton; her daughter Tonie Hockenbury and her husband John Buzansky of Jamison, PA; her grandsons Rhett Hockenbury of Stockton and Ryler Hockenbury and his wife Meixi Chen of McLean, VA; her sister Hilda Hewitt of Flemington and an extended family of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 22, at 11 am at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 (vhmfh.com). Interment will follow at Barber’s Burial Ground, Delaware Township, NJ.
Calling hours at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10 am until the start of services.
