Obituary for William Joseph "Bill" Mueller

William Joseph "Bill" Mueller
William “Bill” Joseph Mueller, 73, passed away in Englewood, Florida on Saturday, March 10, 2018. His death was the result of complications from multiple myeloma, a cancer he had been managing for many years. Anyone who knew Bill observed how determined he was not to let that rule his life. Bill moved to Lambertville, NJ in 2000. He and his wife Shaaron Warne are recent snowbirds and Bill enjoyed their life on Lemon Bay in Englewood very much.

Bill was born in 1944 to Hans and Anna (Huber) Mueller in Jersey City and grew up in Union City, NJ. His parents both emigrated from Germany in the late 1920s and that heritage was very important to him. Bill was proud alumnus of Saint Peter’s Prep, Jersey City. He graduated with a degree in accounting from Saint Peter’s University in 1966 and then earned his CPA. Bill served as a First Lieutenant in the Army in Vietnam. His long career as an accountant started with Ernst & Young and he retired from Kautex Machines, Inc., North Branch, NJ in 2015.

Bill was a multi-faceted man with an interest in holistic healing; his own recovery from Guillain-Barre Syndrome helped to fuel that interest. He became a certified massage therapist to help others work through their injuries and ailments, which he did for six years. An avid outdoorsman, Bill liked hiking, camping, fishing, paddling and traveling. He also enjoyed doing home improvement projects in both Lambertville and Florida. Bill was a present listener, kind-hearted and gentle. He will always be remembered by his family and his many friends for his humor and his positive will in the face of adversity.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Shaaron and his three treasured children Kris Ann Tetzlaff (Bill), Greg Mueller (Erin), and Kari Meehan (Terry). He also has six grandchildren who made his eyes and heart light up: Benjamin, Luke, Daniel, Kurt, Jake and Siena. This much loved man leaves behind many friends and relatives who will miss him very much.

The funeral mass will be offered on Friday, March 23 at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist, 44 Bridge Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530. Following mass Bill will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery, 72 South Franklin Street, Lambertville, NJ.

Calling hours at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm and on Friday morning from 8:30 am until departure for church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance & Rescue Squad, PO 237, Lambertville, NJ 08530 or to Venice Area Audubon Society, PO Box 1381, Venice, FL 34284.
