Joseph J. Gazzillo, Sr., 83, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in Hamilton, NJ.

Born in Lambertville, Joe was a lifelong Lambertville area resident. Joe worked at the Toll Lace Works in Lambertville for many years. After the company closed, he worked for a tree removal company. He also worked independently as a skilled mason. Joe enjoyed cooking, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the American Legion Toscani Post and the Young Men’s Athletic Club, both in Lambertville.

Joe was the father of the late Joanna Marie Taylor, the son of the late Domenico and Elvira (Saluto) Gazzillo and the brother of the late John Gazzillo, Clara Gazzillo and Mary D’Angelis. He is survived by his lady friend Patricia Lee Brown; his children and their spouses Joseph J. Gazzillo, Jr. and his wife Becky of Myrtle Beach, SC, Janis Lynn Johnson and her husband Robert of Washington Crossing, PA and Sherry Lynn “Jody” Freeman and her husband Joseph of Lambertville; his grandchildren Jennifer ( Robert) Worrell, Heather (William) Vinglas, Stephen (Alisa) Gazzillo, Nicholas (Shaunessey) Gazzillo, Edward Joseph McGrath, Cassidy Orion (Meghan) McGrath, LaToya Taylor, Yvonne Taylor and Georgeanna Tilghman; his 13 great-grandchildren; his sister Anna DeMarco of Hamilton; his step-children Penny (Michael) Brag, John Patterson, Debbie (Carl) Lindblad, Bonnie (Tyronne) Wayman, Lueann Brown and Debbie Brown; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11 am at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York Street, Lambertville, New Jersey 08530.
